This "Tiny Treasure" is an exceptionally fine pair of pieces of "Apple Green" Moldavite Facet Rough!
Moldavite is a very rare material and is partially from "Outer Space". Yes, these are pieces of our universe that drifted near Earth and crashed to the ground.
Moldavite is thought to be ejecta from a Meteorite that crashed to earth somewhere near Stuttgart in Germany. Fragments of this collision (part of the meteorite that fused with natural silica of earth) ricocheted from the original crater and landed in the Moldau River region of Czechoslovakia, hence the origen of the name.
Only material from this Czechoslovakian local can rightfully be called "Moldavite"!!
Our Apple Green Moldavite has been hand selected for us by an expert Chezcoslovakian miner about 15 years ago. Criterion for selection of our rough is top color, and minimum of typical "bubble" inclusions. Of course each piece has no internal cracks.

The Apple Green color is believed to be from nickle in the original meteor! Note the interesting "ripply" surface texture!!

Caution
-- We have recently be made aware by one of our Moldavite mining friends in Czechoslovakia, that unscrupulous suppliers are offering ordinary "green glass" that has been broken up and "tumbled" to to smooth the broken edges and surfaces as "Moldavite". These "counterfit" moldavite pieces look like teardrops, gum drops, lima beans, or throat lozenges . They have a relatively smooth surface. Genuine Moldavite is irregularly shaped and has a very deeply "rippled" surface. Once you see real moldavite, you can easily spot the fake pieces.Study our pictures (please look in our Ebay store for more), and you will have no problem sorting out fake moldavite from the "real stuff"!!
Also please note that real "Moldavite" can only be from Czechoslovakia (Moldau River and Moldavia only in Chechoslovakia).  Hence "African or Australian Moldavite" is a "misnomer"!!
