Description
Moldavite is a variety of the mineral species, tektite, which was discovered in Czechoslovakia in 1787. This gemstone weighs 0.95 carats and has a measurement of 8mm by 6mm. The stone has beautiful transparency with inclusions that are mostly visible under an optical microscope. Imperfect round gas bubbles and flow lines can be seen when microscopically viewing this stone. The cut grade is excellent with an oval shape and shows no indication of treatments or enhancements. The color is an olive green hue in a medium tone, perfect as an addition to any gem collection. Moldavites are primarily used to create jewelry or collected. Rating a 5.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness, it is considered fragile than many other gemstones and is too delicate to clean with an ultrasonic cleaner, steam cleaner, or harsh chemicals.
